1. Who is responsible for your data (data controller)
This website, chonkometer.com, is operated by Fitness-Science, a sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak) registered in the Netherlands under Chamber of Commerce (KVK) number 53790839, at Witte Paal 200. For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact us here. The operator is the "data controller" for the limited processing described here.
2. The calculators don't collect your data
Every calculation on this site — BMI, body fat, waist, waist-to-hip — runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. The height, weight, measurements, age and training answers you enter are used only to compute your result on your own device. They are never transmitted to our servers, never logged, and never stored (we don't even use browser localStorage). Close or refresh the tab and they're gone.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
We don't set our own tracking cookies. However, the third-party services below may set cookies or read device identifiers when enabled, and — for visitors in the EU/EEA, UK and Switzerland — only after you give consent through our consent banner (see section 6):
- Google AdSense (advertising). Google and its ad partners may use cookies and identifiers to serve and measure ads and, with consent, to personalise them. See Google's advertising policies and Google's Privacy Policy.
- Third-party ad-network cookies. AdSense may include ads from other networks that set their own cookies under Google's certified partner programme.
- Google Analytics 4 (audience measurement), loaded only after consent. It uses cookies/identifiers to understand how the site is used. IP addresses are truncated/anonymised by Google.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics (privacy-first, cookieless traffic counting). This does not use cookies, does not fingerprint visitors, and collects no personal data, so it runs for all visitors and needs no consent.
4. What data these services may process
When enabled and (where required) consented to, the advertising and analytics services above may process technical data such as your IP address, device and browser type, approximate location, pages viewed, referring page, and cookie/advertising identifiers. This processing is carried out by those providers as independent or joint controllers under their own policies. We receive only aggregated, non-identifying reports.
5. Legal bases (GDPR/AVG Art. 6)
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) for advertising cookies and Google Analytics in the EU/EEA/UK/CH. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) for cookieless, aggregate traffic measurement (Cloudflare Web Analytics) that does not identify you, and for keeping the site secure and functional.
6. Your consent choices (EU/EEA, UK, Switzerland)
Before any advertising or analytics cookies are set, visitors in these regions are shown a consent banner powered by a Google-certified Consent Management Platform (CMP) using the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework (TCF v2.2) and Google Consent Mode v2. You can accept, reject, or set granular preferences, and you can change your choice at any time via the "privacy / cookie settings" link the CMP provides. If you reject, personalised ads and Analytics are not loaded.
7. International transfers
Google and Cloudflare may process data outside the Netherlands, including in the United States. These providers rely on safeguards such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. See each provider's privacy documentation for details.
8. Data retention
We hold no calculator data at all. Analytics and advertising data are retained by Google/Cloudflare according to their own retention settings and policies; GA4's default retention can be configured in the property settings.
9. Your rights under the GDPR/AVG
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. Because we ourselves store no personal data from the calculators, most requests about identifiers set by ads/analytics are best directed to the relevant provider — but you can always contact us at hello@chonkometer.com and we'll help where we can. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch supervisory authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
10. Children
This site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site or the law changes. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the current version.
